Cross-dressing father says preschool discriminated against his daughter
http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2005/06/18/news/community/71705200356.txt

By: ALEXANDRA DeLUCA - For the North County Times

OCEANSIDE ---- A cross-dressing father with a feminine appearance has been barred from enrolling his 3 1/2-year-old daughter at a Catholic preschool in Oceanside.

Officials of St. Mary Star of the Sea Preschool on Wisconsin Avenue confirmed their decision blocking the girl from attending the school. They declined several requests to talk about it, saying only that they believe they handled the situation with compassion.

Dang. I know, it's a private school and they have the right to discriminate how they want. But when straight, married men are discriminated against in our society for being "outside the norm", what hope do the rest of us have?

1. hello
While I don't agree with their action a private school can do whatever they want.

2. Frankly, if that's their attitude,
why would you want to enroll your kid there in the first place?

3. Probably because...
A) It's in walking distance of their house
B) Some of her friends already go there
C) They didn't attempt to enroll in any other pre-school, and the deadline for that has already passed for this year

I think those are the parents' big problems with it.

6. Well they are a private institution, so it is their choice.
But let's hope that some cunning councilman uses 'eminent domain' to better their neighborhood. Maybe even call it blighted.

Or, rather, smited. :)
