7. Follow it up with Electric Mayhem's, "Can You Picture That?"
From later on in the Muppet Movie. Make it psychefunkic as Dr. Teeth might say.

6. I've always loved "A Time for Us"-the love theme from Zefferelli's "Romeo and Juliet"
Edited on Wed Oct-05-11 11:30 AM by Rowdyboy
The lyrics seem sweetly appropriate but then I'm just an aging romantic.

Congratulations to you both and yah to NY and Cuomo! Hope to be celibrating a wedding there myself in a year or two if we ever drag our asses up to the city.

15. Some of the ones Rudy and I played at our wedding:
I knew I loved you before I met you - Savage Garden
You're my home - Billy Joel (his choice, not mine, but I loved it because it meant a lot to him)
Father and son - Cat Stevens (lol, not really applicable to you two, but it was a song where rudy and I each danced with our fathers)
Hard headed woman - Cat Stevens (Was a comedy choice rudy made for me at the reception)
There must be an angel - Eurythmics
Right beside you - Sophie B. Hawkins

Those are the big ones I remember most vividly. Rudy has the mix drive he put together for it, I'll get the rest when I go home tonight.

Serious congratulations you two!!!!!

17. Hey ((Lioness))
I'm a part-time wedding officiant so I hear all kinds of marches :) One of my brides boogied down the aisle to "Brown Eyed Girl". Being outré and country as hell, my husbear HillbillyBob and I marched to Dixie Chicks "White Trash Wedding" and our attendants toted shotguns. (You'd have to know us to understand our twisted and outrageous humor.)

Personally, I like "Entrance of the Queen of Sheba". A nice arrangement (strings, I'd think) of Purcell's Trumpet Voluntary is lovely too. Pachelbel's Canon is entirely too overdone. Yeah, I know it's the sound of a paycheck being made for me, but there are days when I wish folks would pick something else.

When I consult with couples, I try to get to know them a bit so I can custom-create their ceremony. I perform for folks of every religion (or lack) and background. If ya want to PM me, I've got a buttload of wedding music and can offer some suggestions out of what I have at hand. I generally don't provide music, but there have been occasions when the DJ didn't show or the couple totally forgot music. It helps to arrive prepared for ANYthing *LOL*

Most of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! and lots of love.

22. Hehe
Our relationship is a fresh and happy as Day One because we laugh a lot. The sixth thing that attracted me to my beloved (after flirty blue eyes, chest, arms, butt, and box LOL) was his easy, quick humor. We're southern smartasses, happiest when our friends are happy and laughing. Life's short and nobody gets promised a tomorrow. Live, love, and laugh as hard as you can while you can and don't hurt anybody doing it. That's what passes for religion in our home. :)

18. The Wedding Song
Edited on Wed Oct-05-11 12:53 PM by SOSpy
Paul Stookey (of Peter Paul & Mary)
Wedding Song (There Is Love)

He is now to be among you at the calling of your hearts
Rest assured this troubadour is acting on his part
The union of your spirits here has caused him to remain
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in his name
There is love
There is love

Well a man shall leave his mother and a woman leave her home
They shall travel on to where the two shall be as one
As it was in the beginning, is now until the end
Woman draws her life from man and gives it back again
And there is love
There is love

Well then what`s to be reason for becoming man and wife
Is it love that brings you here, or love that brings you life
For if loving is the answer, then who`s the giving for?
Do you believe in something that you`ve never seen before?
Oh, there`s love
Oh there`s love

Oh the marriage of your spirits here has caused him to remain
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in his name
There is love
Ah there`s love

20. mazeltov!
my son just got married. for the mother - son dance, he played "thank you mama" a reggae song by sizzla. i can't think of any others right now. but here's the poem i read during the ceremony:

i carry your heart by ee cummings
By E. E. Cummings

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate (for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

21. It always seemed to me
That, "Kiss Me," by Sixpence None the Richer was about a lesbian couple although they deny it, but, "You wear those shoes, and I will wear that dress," just doesn't sound to me like there's a guy in that relationship.

24. Pursue that happiness!
Constant Craving--K.D. Lang

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXqPjx94YMg

Even Through the darkest phase
Be it thick or thin
Always someone marches brave
Here beneath my skin

Constant craving
Has always been

Maybe a great magnet pulls
All souls towards truth
Or maybe it is life itself
That feeds wisdom
To its youth

Constant craving
Has always been

Craving
Ah ha
Constant craving
Has always been

Promised Land

All this time I have followed the rules
And I’ve lived the perfect life
Alright
By somebody else’s standards
All this time I did not feel too bad
But I was not what you call happy
Not really
I was searching for something
And all this time you were standing by
And all this time you were waiting

All this time I’ve been living a lie
And I even fooled myself completely
Now I’m really ready
Right or wrong
I will follow your course
And if you go down I’ll drown
So save me
I’m not as strong as I look yea
All this time I’ve been saying
No
But all this time
I’ve been meaning

Yes I’m ready to take your hand
Follow you into the promise land
Ooh yea let’s talk about it
I’m a fool for you
Ducking and diving
’cos I’m a fool for you
All this time I’ve been saying
No
But all this time
I’ve been meaning
Yes I’m ready to take your hand
Follow you into the promise land

True Love

I've seen it in your eyes
And I've heard it in your voice
The way you speak my name
Tells me there's no doubt
That the dream that i held on for
Will be everlasting

You know poverty
Can be romantic
In black and white
It looks like art
Just as long as we're together
I couldn't care less

We've got
Harmony and understanding
It's love for the first time
Like the morning sun that's breaking
Giving out that special light

True love
True love
We've got true love
True love

We've laid the right foundations
And we've built our love on trust
No one can tear the walls down
That surrounds us
We've got
Harmony and understanding
It's love for the first time
Like the morning sun that's breaking
Giving out that special light

True love
True love
We've got true love
True love

Now I'm certain of the future
We've got
Harmony and understanding
It's love for the first time
Like the morning sun that's breaking
Giving out that special light

True love
True love
We've got true love
True love

You can't buy a faithful heart
Or true love

Hearts and Flowers

You've got the sweet innocent smile
Eyes to idolize
Shivers down my spine
Take my breath away
I want to thank you for the love you gave
And I want to thank you for the heart you saved

Thank you
Thank you for the love
I want to thank you for the hearts and flowers

People let me say
Mmm this is nice
I know you think I'm foolish
And I'm making a mistake but
To me this is perfect
I want to

Thank you
Thank you for the love
I can't believe it's really happening to me

Thank you
Thank you for the love
I want to thank you for the hearts and flowers
Oh yea

I want to thank you for our rainy days
And I want to thank you for the love you gave
And I want to thank you for the month of May
'Cos that's when you came and took my tears away
And I want to thank you
Want to thank you

Want to thank you for our rainy days
And I want to thank you for the love you gave
And I want to thank you for the month of May
'Cos that's when you came and stole my heart away

And I want to thank you
Want to thank you

Thank you for the love
I want to thank you for the hearts and flowers
Oh yea

And her music is indescribably beautiful, too.

I also like Peter Murphy's: Cuts You Up
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY85bkZlJk4

It's not all sugar, but it's the (beautiful) truth;
and, he IS God :):

I find you in the morning
After dreams of distant signs
You pour yourself over me
Like the sun through the blinds
You lift me up and get me out
Keep me walking but never shout
"Hold the secret close", I hear you say

You know the way it throws about.
It takes you in and spits you out
It spits you out when you desire
to conquer it, to feel you're higher
To follow it you must be clean,
with mistakes that you do mean
Move the heart, switch the pace
Look for what seems out of place

On and on it goes
Calling like a distant wind
Through the zero hour we'll walk
We'll cut the thick and break the thin
No sound to break, no moment clear
When all the doubts are crystal clear
Crashing hard into the secret wind

You know the way it twists and turns
Changing color, spinning yarns
You know the way it leaves you dry
It cuts you up, and takes you high
You know the way it's painted gold
Is it honey? Is it cold?
You know the way it throws about.
It takes you in and spits you out

Oh, cuts you up
Oh, cuts you up
Oh, cuts you up
La, la, la...

You know the way it throws about.
It takes you in and spits you out
It spits you out when you desire
to conquer it, to feel you're higher
To follow it you must be clean,
with mistakes that you do mean
Move the heart, switch the pace
Look for what seems out of place

Oh, cuts you up
Oh, cuts you up
It's okay it goes this way.
The line it twists, it twists away
Cuts you up and spits you out
Keeps you walking, but never shout
La la la...

Best wishes,

Cher
