Gay Teen Inmates Unfairly Treated Trial Told

A doctor at the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility says gay and lesbian inmates were not always treated fairly.

Doctor Robert Bidwell was testifying Wednesday in a federal a lawsuit brought by three LGBT teens against Facility.

The teens say in the suit that say they've been abused and harassed because of their sexual orientation and gender identity while at the detention facility.

The suit was filed on their behalf by the American Civil Liberties Union in September (story).
