Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire (D) will be Grand Marshal of Seattle Pride

I was looking for details on Seattle's annual pride celebration, held the last Sunday of June. I found out that Christine Gregoire, the governor of Washington, will be one of the three Grand Marshals for the parade. The other two are Anne Levinson (her resume is too impressive to summarize, see the link below) and the Safe Schools Coalition.

2. As far as I know, yes

We have had politicians as GM before, but never one so high. And I'm not sure if any other sitting governor has been Grand Marshal of a pride parade.
