Prop 8 Supporters Smear First Grade Class for attending Teacher's Wedding
Proponents of Prop 8 have stooped to new lows with an effort to politicize a field trip by a first grade class to toss rose petals at their teacher after she got married at San Francisco City Hall.
The problem? The teacher married another woman.
Having been slammed for past inaccuracies in their ads, Prop 8 proponents are pointing to the class trip as an example of how "same-sex marriage would be taught in schools to young children."
Have you no shame, Prop 8 supporters?
For a group using millions of dollars donated by God fearing Christians, the Prop 8 campaign sure doesn't act like Jesus when it beats up on a class of first graders.
<snip>
That's right: a parent gave permission for each of those 18 first graders to go on that field trip. But for Prop 8 supporters, parental rights only apply to those who oppose teaching tolerance in the classroom. By their book it is OK to take a kid out of a school class when tolerance is taught but not OK for parents to approve sending their kids to a field trip that displeases the Knights of Columbus or the Mormon Church.
