Karel took a lot of heat last night on KGO
Last night, Karel took a lot of heat during his broadcast. He got many angry calls and his screener took a lot of insults and cussing from "Christian" callers. I don't know if he was reading his emails but he also commented that he was sure his emails would also be filled with venom over his position on the extensive coverage of the pope's death. And how people were considering JP2 to be a saint.

Karel feels that the church never accepted him as a gay man. So, he feels no compulsion to have uber-respect for the pope as exemplified in the MSM coverage. He was very concerned that hardly any attention was being paid to those who were wounded and died yesterday in Iraq.

I sent him an email of support and plan on tuning in to his Sunday night show that airs same as last night - 7 to 10 P.M. Pacific Time. Streaming audio can ber accessed here http://www.kgoam810.com/listenlive.asp#

The archives of KGO programming are available for 24 hours after any program here http://www.kgoam810.com/Complexprogramming.asp
He could sure use support these days as he seems to be on the side of people like myself who are getting "poped out" by now. And he's just so passionate about how he feels. At this point he's hoping he isn't taken off the air.

2. over the top
He was way over the top last night and I don't feel bad for him.
He brought it on himself from the minute the show began.

Being passionate about how you feel is one thing but on last night's show he was very angry, one-sided, oppressive and very disrespectful to anyone who was feeling any saddness or sense of loss over this man's death.

3. I don't blame him for being angry over the church's position on gay people

Let's put it this way - Karel gave the pope as good as gays got from the pope. I thought it was over the top that people called in demanding that Karel give respect to a pope who disrepected gay people.

Kudos to Karel for breathing some fresh air into yesterday's wall to wall to wall papal coverage. He especially nailed it when he made the point that the MSM was all but ignoring the loss of life that occured in Iraq yesterday. Young people died or were wounded and you might not even know about it. Young lives lost didn't seem to mean anything.

I think these two main points became obscured by the venomous calls from so called "Christian" callers. Pfui.

4. Fine, then i guess...
... it seems Karel gave his listener's "venom" so he got "venom" in return?

6. let me be clear it is obvious you are not gay

JP2 shoild rot in hell with his bedmates Jerry Foulwell and Pat Robertson. What the pope said was probably the meanest and most hateful thing I have ever heard coming from a so called man of god. As a gay man and one time catholic it was very hurtful and immflamatory. he deserves no respect from me, and apparently Karel caught his message on Gays. One of hate.

7. It hurts being hated, doesn't it?
I mourn for the FIRST John Paul. He wanted to change the Church from within. They killed him. Had he lived, this world and the Catholic Church would be far less hateful.

RIP Luciano Albini.
