9. I think we've moved well beyond snappy one-liners on this issue. Our rights are firmly

in public, and probably more importantly, legal discourse. I think we'll win this one on the merits.

Tactically, I favor challenging Prop 8 and all similar referenda on constitutional grounds.

The court of public opinion is fickle, sometimes brutal, and always changing. That will come in due course, imho.

(aside) I speak to my niece's friends and there is no question about legal equality for gays and lesbians. Hang in there. It will be.

"pray" for me in public. What they actually do is more like preying than anything else.

Have you ever had this experience? As experiences go it's quite something. The times that it has happened to me were in the context of the anti-War Movement when counter-demonstrators were showing up at our peace gathering, for several months (a few years ago). Some of them offered to prey for one or the other of us and PREY they did!!! I was the one being preyed for once; I was profoundly amazed. It is truly shocking how a lot of passive aggressive punitive hypocrits got into positions of leadership in the nation's churches.
