Judge Orders FDA to Reconsider Limits on Morning-After Pill for Minors

It's about time that the federal government returned to putting science before politics. :applause:

A federal court today ordered the Food and Drug Administration to reconsider the agency's controversial decision limiting non-prescription access to the morning-after pill Plan B to women age 18 and older.

US. District Judge Edward R. Korman ordered the FDA to make Plan B available to women age 17 and older within 30 days and to reconsider whether to make the drug available to women of all ages without a prescription.

In his 52-page decision, Korman said the "record is clear that the FDA's course of conduct regarding Plan B departed in significant ways from the agency's normal procedures regarding similar applications to switch a drug from prescription to non-prescription use."

Critics of the FDA's position hailed the ruling.

You just TRY to find a pharmacy that sells the MAP over the counter in the bible belt.

There are websites that will help women when they can't get it, since you only have a window of 72 hours - max.
An OB/GYN in Tennessee contacted me but was unable to prescribe it for out of state patients. She advised me to call an ER in my state (it was a weekend) to see if a doc would write a scrip for it.

They wouldn't. The ER nurse acted like I was a serial killer just for asking.

The lying hypocrites who claim they want to prevent abortions are forcing women to become incubators by restricting their access to birth control.

Where I live there are no providers within 50 miles.

Where I'm from (Vermont- oh how I miss you) I would have access to 15 providers within 25 miles and 2 within 10.

My advice to women in the bible belt who may need Plan B: buy one at your first opportunity to have on hand, or keep at least one extra pack of BCP just in case.
