No vomiting and no nausea brought to you by big pharma.
FMD was nearly down for the count after 2 hours of projectile vomiting two nights ago. After I became delirious my wife loaded me up and took me to the ER. They started a line shot me up with Zofran and gave me 2 liters of fluid. GSK may not be the greatest but they get an A+ on Zofran.

2. Yikes! Did you have a fever, too? If it gets to 108, I say sell!
In days of yore, two hours of projectile vomiting would be sufficient to declare you possessed! These days, it still might be enough, in some jurisdictions.

Best wishes for a speedy convalescence!

4. Yep about 103 and that was after a cup of ice water. That ain't no joke in a middle aged man.
I don't know how kids deal with fevers. I remember a nurse saying my veins were flat and me thinking shocker. I've never thrown up like that literally a quart at a time. I had a 1 gallon waste can that I nearly filled up with 3 heaves. I'm still in bed hopefully I can go visit my dad in the hospital tomorrow.

8. Strange. I got a shot last night in the ER of Zofran and a hefty dose of hydromorphone.
I had crippling stomach cramps, vomiting and diarrhea and it hurt so bad, I made my first trip to the ER in my life. Got 3 liters of normal saline via IV, a shot of Zofran and a few shots of Dilaudid to stop the pain.

It is a good drug, but holy shit, I slept most of Xmas Eve.

9. That may not have been the Zofran.
I was so exhausted from being up all night puking it wouldn't have mattered. Hope you feel better. That was my first trip to the ER for something other than an injury since I was a kid.

10. Hope you feel better as well. I think the puking and Dilaudid did me in for the day.
They asked me to describe the pain and I told them it felt like I was about to give birth to set of broken china out of both ends.

11. I am so glad you were helped
my goodness, I HATE vomiting. I can't imagine why anyone would do it on purpose.

Hopes for a speedy recovery and thanks to all who helped you- in the ER and in the lab.

14. Good grief, do you know what caused it?

Virus, food poisoning?

I missed Thanksgiving this year due to some virus--lots of vomiting, but no fever, remarkably.

So glad this helped you.

15. They said a really bad virus was going around.
They also said that fever would have been rare with food poisoning that early into it. I still don't feel back to normal.

16. My mom took that when she was on chemo
Her insurance company made her try cheaper alternatives first, but they were all terrible so the insurance company agreed to pay finally.

17. I was a patient at Walter Reed in May of 1992 they had just started using it.
The people who had chemo before it compared to after said it was an incredible drug. Hope your mom is doing well.

18. Zofran doesn't work for me
The only thing that works for me is that old, cheap drug Compazine.

I puked for 3 days when I was in shock last summer. Compazine was the only thing that slowed it down.
