Happy Mole Day!
Edited on Tue Oct-24-06 09:08 AM by TechBear_Seattle
Avogadro's number is formally defined as "the number of carbon-12 atoms in 12 grams of unbound carbon-12 in its rest-energy electronic state." It is believed to be about 6.02 x 10^23. The term "mole" is used as a measurement in chemistry and is defined as Avogadro's number of particles of any kind of substance (such as atoms, molecules, etc.)

Well, yesterday was 10/23, and chemists around the world celebrated Mole Day. Festivities began at 6:02am local time, and continued to 6:02 pm.

And you thought science was boring. :hi:

(Edited; Mole Day was yesterday and I missed it. )
