Today is not a good day to be a whaler. Tomorrow doesn't look good, either.

Oh, and I should get around to ordering that shirt I want.

Edit: Last year during whaling season I did a little one person fundraiser, inspired by what people have done when the Phelps Phamily Phreaks roll into town. I picked a particularly noxious pro-whaling troll and told him his every post on the thread would earn SSCS $5. Maybe I should do that again this year, it was funny and the cash went to a good cause.

4. The sea sheperd is giving the Japanese whalers a hard time today
Japanese whaling ship and protest boat collide at sea

Associated Press
Monday February 12, 2007
Guardian Unlimited

An anti-whaling group's boat and a Japanese whale-spotting vessel collided twice in Antarctic waters today during clashes over a pod of whales, conservationists and Japanese officials said.

The anti-whaling group Sea Shepherd Conservation Society said a one-metre (three-foot) gash was torn in the hull of its ship, the Robert Hunter, by the Japanese ship Kaiko Maru during the clashes in iceberg-strewn waters far south of New Zealand.

Japanese officials accused the group of attacking the whaling ship like pirates.

8. When my close friend Marie died, Captain Watson signed her memory book
Edited on Sat Feb-07-09 06:47 PM by Omaha Steve

Marie spent the last three years of her life fighting non stop to end the Canadian Harp Seal kill. The good Captain did a phone interview about the issue at Marie's request. He cut to pieces the right leaning conservative idiot.

I'm sorry it is to late to R for Marie.
