Need your help please... I'm making a second Thanksgiving Dinner
for another side of my large family after my husband and I return from a traditional thanksgiving dinner earlier in the day.

So, I need some advice please... Should I try to make another quickie turkey & trimmings dinner or do something altogether different? And any suggestions??? It needs to be fairly easy and feed 13. This side is very easy going, and really just want to play poker. :)

Thanks for any advice! :hi:

1. Why not roast a couple of turkey breasts the day before?
Fix a ton of stuffing, have cranberry sauce, all the other stuff on hand, and LOTS of bread.

Make sandwiches to eat while you play poker.

Sounds like fun.

3. I could make a turkey a day ahead, the only downside is
most of the 13 will have already had turkey elsewhere that day; only a few won't have havd it. Of course, I could eat turkey all day. Turkey or ham sandwiches with a few fixins sounds pretty good. thanks! :9

Cook a ham, and slice thinly...arrange on a nice platter ..along with some interesting breads & mustards.Cover tightly and refrigerate.

dips & raw veggies...apple wedges with caramel dip

maybe some cranberries

some potato salad/coleslaw/ baked beans

Order some yummy pies, cut into slivers...vanilla ice cream & whipped cream..

apper plates/napkins

All can be done the day before, and you can come home and put it all out, and relax yourself:)

8. okay, I think I got my menu down, what do ya think?
We expect 14 now from 6 PM to about 11 PM...

*Ham slices and breads for sandwiches
*Cold Indian curried rice
*BBQ cranberry meatballs
*Spinach artichoke dip
*Deviled eggs
*Veggie tray
*Cheddar cheese ball & crackers

The great thing is I can make it all the day before, pull it out & serve!

and don't forget a pickles/olives relish tray. you can never have too many pickles and olives for a grazing/muchie spread IMHO :D

10. Sounds wonderful..and easy on the cook
People will be "turkey-ed" out, and will enjoy a "grazing" snack-y meal..

Sometimes when I am uninspired for dinner, I do the same thing.. My husband likes that kind of meal ..and it;s soooo easy :)

11. one more thing.. when people say "Can I bring something?"
say..bring a dessert (to feed 4).. That way you'll have an assortment of after-dinner treats that people know they like (they brought them) for all to share, and all you need to do is make coffee :)

Oh.. and don;t forget the paper plates & plastic silverware...NO CLEAN UP!!!!

13. but - but - but - but............
...you won't have any turkey leftovers!

I face that dilemma this year. Even though I'm going elsewhere, I can't bear the thought of no turkey sandwiches on sourdough at midnight.
