Anybody here ever try Tofurkey Beer Brats?
There is ONE place locally that sell them, and I am going to brave the snow to go get some. I have been hearing good things about them-I am also going to check out the entire vegetatian Tofurkey dinner they sell...

I usually eat boca sausage (The Italian ones are great-there is one type that smells and tastes like Noxema to me)

Anyway-any recipes for the beer brats out there in DULand? I have a small Foreman grill, since I cannot grill outside.

1. Haven't tried them, but I'll bet they're good.
Tofurkey products that I've had are very good, though my favorite remains _Quorn_ (not vegan because they use egg whites as a binder).

On the other hand, I avoid Boca Burger brand because they're part of Kraft, and _Kraft uses GMO_ ingredients widely.

2. I had no idea that they made such a thing.
There are a lot of people who like the Tofurkey line of stuff--I know it comes up on the v/v/ar board fairly often.

I'm still sort of freaked out by most mock meat, so I'm generally the wrong person to ask about it. If you do try it, let us know how it is, okay?

3. I'm still
a meat-eater, altho I eat very little these days. The Quorn Chicken Patties and Naked Cutlets, and Amy's California Burgers are really very good. So are MSF Chik'n Nuggets and Corn Dogs. I used to be a really huge meat eater but these really satisfy the urge.

4. I hate to say it, but they're pretty good
I know this shoots my Wisconsin cred all to hell, but I thought they were OK. They taste NOTHING like actual brats, but they've got their own thing going on.

One caveat: they seem to be at least 1/3 pure salt. They still taste good, but you're gonna be drinking a few gallons of water afterwards.

5. Or beer!
:)

I'll try them once to see. I have heard good things about them, although the snow here has kept me in the house this weekend. Maybe I can snag some next weekend!
