Any recommendations on a home meat grinder?
I don't anticipate doing much sausage making, but when/if I get one of those feral pigs that roam the deer camp it may be an opportunity to explore the world of custom grinding. Besides, pork shoulder goes on sale for .99 pretty often as does brisket and I'm told that brisket makes a nice medium rare burger . . .

I'd like to keep it under $150 and lower is better.

3. No stand mixer and not really interested in one,
looking for a stand alone grinder, preferably electric.

2. I had a hand grinder years ago
It required a lot of muscle, but it did the job and had an attachment to fill the casings. You can also use a food processor and some of those can be had quite reasonably. The cheap ones won't do bread dough, but they'll grind meat in small batches.

Also good is the two cleaver method, one in each hand, attacking the meat on a cutting board. It's low tech and offers a great deal of control, easy cleanup, and a way to get your aggression out.

If you have a Kitchen Aid mixer, there are great grinder and sausage attachments for it so that you don't have to fill the casings by hand.
