I made this...
this weekend...and OH. My. God. it was good!

http://www.gumbopages.com/food/red-beans.html I snagged it from another thread on here.

I make red beans and rice.."spanish" style. My husband is hispanic so that's usually the way I make them. I saw this and figured I'd give it a try.

I changed it up a little.

I boiled ham hocks for a couple of hours, then picked the meat off threw back in the liquid and used that instead of water. I used both andouille and a hot sausage. Added some red wine vinegar, a little cumin, and a few more things. Let it simmer for about 3 hrs, then put it in the fridge overnight.

I'm going to make it again. Hubby and kids loved it. YAY!

1. I think that's the one I used
when I've made it before. It was really, really good. Always great to come up with something that the whole family enjoys. Good for you! :hi:
