Shrimp and Tasso Gravy over Cornbread
Yum! Just had a fantastic meal cooked by my beloved.

We got about 2 lbs of local Carolina costal shrimp, we shelled and deveined them. Boiled them in Old Bay for a couple of minutes. Set aside.

Tasso Gravy:

1/2 lb of Tasso ham, cut into small cubes.
1 stick of butter.
1/2 C flour
File Gumbo seasoning (sasafrass)

GF Cornbread for moi. :-)

Cook the gravy (standard roux from the ham and butter, then whisk in flour.) Put shrimp over open faced cornbread. Pour gravy over all. Yum!

I love a man who can cook! :-)

1. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
I've never seen sassafras for sale around here, but when a dish is cooked with that much love (and butter!) it's got to be good! :hi:
