Bought a couple nice pie pumpkins
over the weekend. Really want to make pumpkin butter. And keep some puree for for pumpkin pancakes on the weekend.

I think instead of trying to cook them on the stovetop to get a puree, I'll split them open and roast them in the oven to get a caramel-ly flavor first. Plus I can toast all those good seeds a little too.

2. Sure come on over
I'm making pumpkin buckwheat pancakes. Trying to find something that's a little sweet, but not too, to top them with.

3. Finally saw some in Sunflower Market yesterday
but they were a little on the pricey side. They're out there, though, so people who have been wondering where they are should know they're on the way.

The seeds are the best part, IMO, although candied pumpkin is really nice.

Forget about using the oven around here. Temps have been in the 90s in the high desert.

4. Just cooled off this week
60s and mid 70s around her, so the warmth from the stove will feel good. We will have another warm spell before a final frost about the first of November or so. But I'll take it for now. :-)
