Found These plates at Target
and I got a set for six in the clear Presence line. Very cheap, only a couple of bucks/piece.

http://www.anchorhocking.com/prod_17_dinnerware.html

I got a set of pottery dishes a few years ago, but they :

1) Heat up in the microwave

2) Chip very easily.

So, I have been looking to replace them with a good solid every day set. I think these will do fine. Also, believe it or not, the SO has been looking at china and silverware patterns. I swear that man does have a Martha Stewart gene. ;-) I think when we get the fancy china and such, these will look good next to them as well.

1. Very nice . . .
and yes, I too think they'll match any other china/dinner ware that you get in the future.

2. nice
I have some of the Cobalt presence line. I could never find the side pieces in a store and will never be willing to shell out e-bay prices for them. (those people wanted double digits for a butter dish)

I like the blue glass. It's a little calmer than the electric blue stuff that was available in the 70s.

edit: We had goblets in that color.

5. My dinnerware is Wally's and Target Corelle white
because I need something that will do all of the above plus survive frequent dropping. Whenever something does break, I can pop out and replace it.

For years I had Woolworth's white and loved it, but Woolworth's is no more and I can't find the stuff anywhere. The rest went to the thrift shop and it's Corelle for me.

Having fancy dishes never occurred to me. If I was serving more than 4 people, I used paper plates so I could have good time with my guests instead of sitting around dreading that mountain of dishes. Since I paid close attention to what went onto the plates, nobody seemed to mind.

6. Corelle's good
We'd had it for years.

I'm just especially attached to glass. :-)

Plain white, they're like iron. Goes with everything. Love'em.

Stoneware chips so easily.

9. I will get delivery of my locally made
plates on Saturday.

I tried them first, as it were, with a couple cups.

Yes, I am buying straight from the artist. And they were not that expensive either.
