Has anyone tried hamburgers made with Hidden Valley
seasoning mix (dried dressing mix that you add stuff to to make dressing) and grilled? What does it taste like?

1. i haven't done that, but last night did roasted potatoes with onion soup
mix and they were delicious!

4 med potatoes
1/3 cup oil (i used Olive Oil)
1 package dried onion soup mix

cut taters in bite size pieces, mix in a baking dish with the other ingredients until well coated. Bake uncovered in a 425 degree oven for 30-45 minutes, stirring a few times during the process.

2. I've not had them with Hidden Ranch, but my son is an impressario
of adding flavorings to ground beef. He's done it as long as I can remember ... even when he was a little kid.

The idea of adding dry flavorings to ground beef is sound. One of hs that I like is Old Bay. He's also done Mexican seasonings, Cajun, hell, he may have even tried Hidden Valley. While a few of his that I've had have been busts, most are pretty good.

3. I just ate a burger made with HV in the ground meat. I thought it was
excellent! Nice onion flavor plus more. And I suppose the MSG helps as a booster. Nice mellow herb flavor. I also added a pinch more salt and ground pepper.

4. They're good, but better with home-made ranch powder.
There's a lot of sodium in the HV powders. I make my own.

1/2 cup dry buttermilk powder, 1 T dried parsley, 1 t dried dill, 1 t onion powder - made from organic onion flakes in a mortar and pestle, 1 t dried minced onion, 1/2 t granulated garlic, 1/4 t ground pepper. Mix in a baggie or box and use by the TB full.

I'm not a big fan of salt, and less so since I quit smoking. Funny how the tastes change....

5. "less so since I quit smoking"
I had to laugh when I read your post.

My husband and I quit smoking a couple of years ago, and about six months after we quit, my culinary ability just rocketed. It seemed like everything I cooked was deelicious!

We finally figured it out.
