Morning all, a quick question. Is there a small "something or
other" that I can buy so that I can download--or is it upload= my digital pictures directly into the computer from the camera? I have a 5 year old HP Pavilion with no slot for the little disk.
When I bought the camera, it came with an installation disk that had all kinds of space hogging programs on it that I had the Computer guy take out. It had caused some problems. I don't want to reinstall that again. I just need to get the photo's into the machine without all the extra junk that came of the Nikon installation disk.

Thanks you any advice.

1. It sounds like you want a USB card reader

It's a small device that will plug into one of your USB ports. Most of the time you won't even need to install any driver either. Just make sure to get one that reads the memory cards your camera uses. Here's an example of a card reader that handle many different formats.

2. Most cameras come with a cable: Camera connection on one end, USB on the other
Plug cable into camera. Plug cable into USB slot on computer. Power Camera on. Computer recognizes camera. Access pics on card while its still slotted in the camera. That's how I do it on my desktop PC that does not have an SD slot.
