Well, Laptop finally died. Borrowing neighbors computer to post this
It's been limping for over a year so guess it's time. Unfortunately not much I can afford on $624/mo disability. Wish I knew someone who recently upgraded and have an old one gathering dust. About $200 is all I can squeeze right now.

Don't need much. I'm here at DU from wake up to bedtime every day cause all I can do any more is to sit on my ass. But I'll go nuts without that.

Anyone know what is the best deal I can find new. Anything will do. Wally world is the only store in this town. Their cheapest is a tiny (acer I think) ultra mini notebook. for $349 I think. Hate to do buisness there. Nothing used in the paper or at the only 'puter store in town except a desktop for $179, no monitor. Living in this little sailboat I need a laptop though. I use a usb Verizon Aircard modem. I've got an external dvd drive and HD.

I'll check back later this afternoon. Hope someone here has an idea My social Security payday is tommorrow so I'm gonna do something, even if it's wrong.

Love all my DU family. So Thanks for any advice.

1. Check craigslist? Freecycle if available in your area.
Will post again if I think of something else.

Are you near Memphis?

3. I'm outside Nashville
I subscribe to the local freecycle but nothing on the list but others in the same fix as me.

I'll check craig's list

And thanks for the response

5. Just checked ebay...
There are over a thousand of "Buy it now" laptop systems between $180.00 & $225.00.

http://computers.shop.ebay.com/items/Laptops-Notebooks_?LH_BIN=1&LH_IncludeSIF=1&_catref=1&_dmpt=Laptops_Nov05&_fln=1&_mPrRngCbx=1&_sacat=177&_ssov=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m282&_udlo=180&_udhi=225

Be sure to check the seller's feedback and return policy before purchasing.
