removing McAfee
I have used revo uninstaller and it seems to think it has removed it but it pops back again after a while. I use the advance setting and delete the highlighted leftover files. What am I missing?

1. You need MCPR.exe tool from McAfee and instructions. See link.

I would also suggest you run ccleaner tools uninstall. If... you are familiar with this utility.

6. When all else fails
http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm

this is regseeker and it's free and it's good and it isn't a big install either. One of the best programs I've found for ferreting out the little critters some programs hide throughout your registry. Click on the find in registry option at the top there and start your search for anything mcAfee and delete what you find. It keeps a backup if you want but it also lets you uncheck that option if you want. This program along with CCleaner are the first programs I install after reformatting and reloading xp. You may have to run this a couple times to find everything but it will find whatever you have that is mcafee on your machine. Keep in mind that you may want to use whatever key words that mcafee use. I haven't used that anti-virus program so I have no idea about the ins and outs of it.

9. It looks as though
McAfee is gone. I have restarted and defraged a number of times and also checked the control panel and nothing there. Thanks so much for your help.

13. Where does it reappear?
Did you run the "Advanced" option of Revo?

14. Two things may be happening. First McAfee may be running and needs to be exited before it can be
removed. If there is a McAfee icon showing in the taskbar, right click and exit or close. Another method is the three finger salute and start the task manager and cancel McAfee processes and then run the removal tool MCPR.exe tool. A third is start CCleaner and click on tools. You have 3 tools available (uninstall, startup, and system restore). Use uninstall to see if McAfee is still listed as installed. Use startup to see if McAfee is scheduled to run at startup if so click on it and then click on disable and reboot your machine. At this point it should not start up and can be removed using CCleaner uninstall.

I would also delete McAfee Folder from ProgramFiles.

If at this point McAfee is still around your machine has beeen hijacked and its time to run MalwareBytes .

7. I just removed 2 Norton 360's in the last 2 weeks. Both times,
it asked me, complete uninstall? or partial? I chose complete and it was gone completely. I hope.
Maybe Revo doesn't specifically do it.
