looking at another computer - buying from costco only so don't suggest geek places
Costco has 90 return and good warranty on anything electronic

ok they have these two laptops

---- dv7 3063cl 17.3 with amd and 4g and lightscribe and hdmi out w/win7 for 799.99

---- dv7-2273cl with intel chip but bluray player (I have no blu ray disk and do not intend on buying any) for 999.99

so what is the difference between an intel chip and amd at this point - amd has been around awhile

also the blu ray seems like the newest thing but not necessarily something worth spending the money on

you can go to www.costco.com to see what they have
I will NOT buy a Dell

2. OK, the AMD is nice for the price lots of features
The Intel is GREAT because it has WAY better video (ATI-4650 mobility with 1GB DEDICATED video memory, compared to 4200 Mobility) the core2duo is way more powerful than the turion, and a LOT more memory.

Buy the 2273, a better value. Remember, blu-ray is the future, and prices will come down.

5. Try Geek City, oh sorry, you said no geek places. I have the
Toshiba laptop and I like it.
HP printers are good, I don't know about the computers.
Let me recommend Bess Buy. They are the Bess.
