for $12.99. Just bring in your empties and they will fill them. Anyone ever tried this? I just can't spend $54.00 plus tax for the #'s 56 and 57 that my PSC uses.

Oops, edited because I didn't see my huge typo.

I have used cheap refills, sometimes they work fine and sometimes they don't. One of the reasons the last inkjet I bought has individual color tanks was that I only need to replace one color at a time. And lasers are so cheap now that I do 90% of my printing on my laser and most of my color printing on my color laser-which cost me under $200. I save the inkjet for when I want a high quality photo print.

2. The head assemblies attached to the cartridges are fragile
We've used refill services for the huge number of laser cartridges we use at work, some Lexmark's of which cost almost $500 new........
http://www.staples.com/Lexmark-64035HA-Toner-Cartridge-High-Yield/product_614576?cmArea=PMM so we can save $150 a clip on a refill. on the inkjets, we gave up on refills. we wound up having so much trouble with smearing and waste because the print heads on the cartridge wore out so fast we usually wound up throwing away prematurely 2 out of 3 refills, especially the color, the inks NEVER matched original HP or Canon quality. Try Staples brand refils because they are at least guaranteed if you have a problem, but drugstore refills????? No.
