Coupla questions re: ActiveX components and Wild Tangent

The other day when I did my manual uninstall of VirusScan, the instructions took me into the Downloaded Program Files folder to delete any McAfee ActiveX components. I noticed some components that came from websites that I did not recognize. Can I/Should I delete them?

When I ran SpyBot and AdAware, one or the other picked up Wild Tangent (I believe as a data miner). About a year ago, I had downloaded a game from Shockwave and Wild Tangent came with it. I uninstalled the game, but the Wild Tangent folder is still there. I did a Google search and came up with this link: http://www.pchell.com/support/wildtangent.shtml

Now I'm confused; is Wild Tangent a nasty or not?

Oh, and if it makes any difference, I'm using Firefox now.

Spybot or Ad-Aware delete wild Tangent. It comes with alot of games. Your games should work just fine without it.

2. Oh, I did.

In fact, I ran both again just now. AdAware came up with nothing. With Spybot, there was an error message in . . . I don't know, German? Then right beneath it, there was a congratulatory message that nothing was found.
