Time for a half yearly tribute to our departed friends
Hi everyone,

I have some time this month to put together another Pet Tribute like I did during the holidays last year. If you have lost a loved one, please PM me or add a photo and info about your pet on this thread. I will be working on the tribute and put it up on DU by the end of July.

We've lost some good friends since December, hugs to everyone who is hurting. :grouphug:

1. ...
Luna:

and the ex mr MB lost his kitty exactly two weeks after Luna....I have to find a picture of our Murky Quagmire Spaz - she was his constant for 16 years, and she was mine for 8. I will check back in with a photo soon.

Thanks for doing this.

Even though we have our new baby Zeus rat terrier lined up to come home in August, I am not yet whole again....

Thanks for the kind words in the other thread.

Mr Bug

My interest in Photography was jump started by taking pictures of Bug and Maggie Pie.
They were my first subjects (victims).

Here's some pics of my beautiful Beau. 14 years of pure joy and the best friend I've ever had.

Sorry, I couldn't choose - I'll let you do it.

I am sorry about the number of the pictures - I've been trying for an hour now to decide which one to include but they each remind me of some different joy he brought me and I can't bring myself to pick just one. I will leave that decision in your capable, compassionate hands. Thank you again for doing this.

This was my "baby" ... Maestro. He was a miniature poodle and he the most loving, cuddly little guy I ever met. I lost him in February after 11 years and I miss him terribly.

A big hug for all my fellow DUers who also lost their furry family members. :grouphug:

I am sure you miss him everyday, I know I would. Our pets are our kids! :grouphug:

So many people have lost their babies this year since December, it is always shocking to see the number of DUers come forward.

26. Imagine Maestro white and that was my Roody.
A white miniature poodle who was given to me when he was three---unwanted by his family. We had 12 and a half more years together, most of it spent with a Corgy mix, Sherise, who died three years ago. Roody died last January of kidney failure. He and Sherise are buried in my backyard. I am trying the dogless life now, but started volunteering at the animal shelter.

12. Thanks so much for doing this, 48percenter. Sadly, we lost two a week
apart.

We had to put Mozart down on 4.6.2008 due to congestive heart failure, and we had to put Kaylee down on 4.13.2008 due to cancer. Mozart was around 8; Kaylee was 15.

16. Thanks BL
it's an honor and a pleasure. But I must admit, seeing the lost loved ones sometimes really makes me sad, and I tear up. Especially when it the pet of someone that I know from Pets group or Photo group. Having been on DU for almost 6 years, you come to learn who belongs to whom. :(

17. Khalil Gibran once wrote
that sorrow is the wall that separates two gardens. Shall we grow our gardens of love well here in honor of those who are tending them for us just across The Bridge. Hug often and tightly -- mean every one of them. Those are the snapshots we get to keep.

:grouphug: to each and every one in pain.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart,
and you shall see that in truth you are weeping
for that which has been your delight.

20. Tim, 1989-2008
He was born at our house to a cat we didn't keep long because she needed to be a farm cat, not a house cat. But we kept Tim his whole life, 18 years and 2 months. And he also died at home after a long decline of kidney/heart failure.

31. Little Max

The best, best, best little dog in the whole world.

He died on April 10th at the age of 18. I had him so long it still seems unreal that he's gone.
