These guys have just fledged, but probably didn't wean until four-to-six weeks later. There's a long period of dependency in a lot of parrot species.

4. Those greys remind me of my baby who is now 6 yrs old.

I met her when she was very, very young, at the pet shop. I had originally picked her clutchmate, and noticed after awhile that he was not as intererested in me as his sister. I kept visiting several times a week, and then asked if I could switch, to which they said yes.
You could say my grey picked ME to be her mom.
She speaks directly to my face, she has few fears.

How adorable, be sure to post photos and let us see how they grow. I had a parakeet when I was a little girl, but the closest I ever got to an exotic bird was a friend who had a cockatiel. It was a very cool bird.

9. I have a cockatiel.

I believe she is 2 years old this month. I keep telling her, just think, 2 years ago you were a little egg. ;)

10. They are adorable.

I've never had pet birds, but I like looking at them through the window. How do they eat as babies? I saw the not weaned part and starting wondering.
