Edited on Fri Jul-08-11 07:46 PM by Obamanaut
chihuahua to a 40 lb cocker/wire haired terrier mix - and they all do the same thing.

If I rub my forehead against any part of their faces or heads, they get really still and act sorta dreamy, with the tail wagging slowly. It doesn't seem to matter whether they are standing up or lying down.

Are their faces real sensitive to attention?

BTW - they are all spoiled.

ETA- they don't act the same as with a regular head/chin/neck/behind ear scratching/rubbing.

1. I swear I posted a reply to this and it seems to have disappeared.
Anyway, what I wanted to say is that when you get down on a dog's level and put your face next to their's, you are most likely exuding loving energies and affection that make them react that way. They are just blissed-out.

2. Thanks for the response. This group seems to act differently than any other
of the dogs, cats, hamsters, ferrets, etc. who've lived with us since we got married.

It might be because these are family members, and all the others were pets. Maybe I changed.

3. I never thought about it
But my Layla does that, I rub my forehead against hers and give her a little kiss before bed or before going out and leaving her for work or errands. I will be more conscious of her full reaction now. She's part of our family/pack also and it's hard to consider her a "pet".

4. my little terrier does this to me.
both my 2 little girls think the sun rises and sets on me. the more possessive one rubs her head on me every chance she gets, and like you say, blisses out if i return the gesture.
