Thanks for holistic food brands help for my kitty...
I had posted on here about my itty bitty kitty, a Maine Coon, whom was found on the street in the just before Christmas years ago.
I had figured she was about 6 months old. She is now almost 12years and still weighs the same 7 pounds she has since reaching adulthood.

An open tumor was found on her mammary gland a few months ago, and after surgery to her and my wallet, it was found to be malignant. Since she is so near and dear to me, I appealed to this forum to find out how to make her life longer and healthier.
Someone suggested Wellness canned food and holistic dry food. I found a shop which sells the goods and it is keeping her weight up.
In fact, she ate readily and was not throwing up near as much.
I thought is was because I was heating it up, but when I ran out and heated up the old brands, she refused to eat the normal crap.
Okay, so I am recently unemployed, and can not see her suffer, so I purchased some more today.
My best friend is happily sacked out, and I can see her sweet little face buried in her paws. I will buy pasta for myself and live on peanut butter.
I can really see how this food is superior to the store brands.
This little bundle of unconditional love deserves the best I have to offer.

1. I'm so glad that she's doing better!

and I feel for you re: financial woes. During the Clinton years I had a nice six figure income, but nowadays I struggle to stay out of bankruptcy. My biggest "luxuries" are organic groceries for me and holistic food for my kitties. I figure that without my health and theirs, I really don't have anything (besides-few things are more expensive than vet and medical bills)!

Here's hoping for many more wonderful years together! :hi:

2. She jumped up into my arms a moment ago...
She wanted to play, so I indulged her.
This amazing kitty knows when I am hurting and will massage the area afflicted. She never ceases to amaze me.
I would do anything for her.

3. Aww, what a heart warming story...
Sorry Digit to hear about your financial straits, hope that situation improves soon. Glad to hear that your kitty is doing better. Keep us posted.

Amazing what organic and holistic food does for ALL creatures, I've had a spate of health woes since November and the only thing that has made me better is eating ALL organic. We are what we eat, cats too, I guess.

So I'm with Lorien too, I have no money for anything else, but I treat us to a good diet.

4. I too have seen an elderly cat turn from a
stodgey lethargic grump cat into a healthy and active older cat! Ok so not everything changes with food and glocosimine, but you can sure see the better side affects.

And it pays to take care of yourself too! I wish you well. I am looking for another job myself and my future is somewhat uncertain.

5. I've recently switched to
holistic foods too and now my dogs eat readily as well. I was buying them an expensive pet store brand before and a lot of times they would sniff it and then walk away. Now they eat every last bit and lick the bowl. It even smells good to me! I mean, it smells like food, not cardboard.

I'm glad you've had such great success and I hope your financial situation improves soon. My business has progressively gotten worse with every year Shrub has been in office, but luckily I still make a decent living. Who knows how long that will last, but I too will continue to spend whatever I have to to give my dogs this food. I can make sacrifices elsewhere, if need be. They contribute so much to my physical and emotional health that every penny is worth it. They are better stress relievers than an expensive massage IMO. They say people who have pets live longer and I have to believe it's true. Knowing this, really, we're probably saving money in the long run; think of all the medical expenses we might have if we didn't have them. I'd probably be in therapy! I can feel stress melt away the minute I start playing with, or cuddling with my pals. Keeping them healthy and happy is an investment in our own health. I think we should be able to write off pet food as a preventative medical expense ;-) .
