MINT IS COMING MINT IS COMING
Mint was a foster greyhound we had last october. SHe was adopted and now is being returned because of divorce... it broke our hearts to when she was adopted... and we've been saying that if she ever was returned we would adopt her

so it's official we are insane

We are waiting for a phone call to make the pick-up arrangements for friday night. We are adopting her.

-- we currently have 4 cats and two dogs, plus another foster greyhound. On friday night we will have 3 dogs, plus a foster and of course the 4 cats...

1. I'm sure you'll find a way to make it work
right now my three foster kittens are up for adoption at a PetSmart-I'm so worried for them! I'm worried that a.) they won't get adopted, and B.) they'll get adopted by the wrong people. I wish I could keep them all! I would feel the same way about Mint too if I were in your position. Congrats on the new family member!

2. we pick up MINT tonight at 7pm (friday 5/27)
and I still haven't made a dog pillow for her... (errrr..it's on my list of things to do....)

we are holding off buying food/water bowls until tomorrow - we can make do for one day with what we have as she may come with these since her former family will no longer have dogs they may just send her along with bowls and other things

our next big purchase or project is to buy/make a ramp for the truck - our airdale is 9 years old and a bit arthritic so getting up/down out of the truck is difficult for her, and since we will now have 3 dogs -- well, my car is too small to carry them all

4. She's here
there was a few moments of playing "shy" during a meet/greet and get reaquainted with our other dogs

but then she came into the house and went right over to the pantry -- she remembered where we keep the treats....

settled into her old spot - on a pillow next to our bed...

she's in good shape, still a love sponge and wiggly-butt

yes, I'll have pics soon of the entire pack!

6. Congrats!
We totally understand. I have 3 dogs and 1 cat (the max allowed in our association). The third dog was a foster who made a place for herself here. The only bad thing about being at our max is that now we can't foster, but we still do transport.

8. She' settling in just fine
a couple of "accidents" - but mostly our fault as we relearn her subtle "signals" (stands near you with puppy-dog eyes and "eyebrows" twitching)

she does have some diarrhea - I'm calling the vet today anyways to get her established, and a general check-up, plus she will need the kennel cough shot and we'll deal with the diarrhea problem. Most likely just a nervous belly/intestines during this adjustment period - it happens

with three of our own and a foster - taking them all out to do their business at once is a handful - my partner says I look like a NY dog walker...lol
