Why aren't the kids affected by these energies?

In speaking with a few people, we've noticed that while adults are angry/frustrated/irritated most of the time these last couple of months, the kids (younger and teens) are essentially fine. In fact, when I fully expect my teen to be a bear because the energy all around is so intense, she's totally fine. Happy, even.

Have you experienced something different perhaps with kids lately?

If, in general, the kids aren't any more irritable than usual, what's up with that? Are they assimilating and adjusting to whatever is happening energetically more gracefully than us? Have they already assimilated...something?

1. Change is easier on the young
My guess is the "old ways" haven't been thoroughly ingrained in these young ones and it's much easier for them to adapt to the changes. The energies don't appear to have any effect on them, but it's really that they are "rolling with it". It would behoove all of us to pay attention and try to emulate.

2. Maybe it's all these "old world" responsibilities, too....

I could probably roll with things better if I didn't have to be the one to provide food and shelter in these crazy times...yada, yada. ;) Most of us are singing the same song in that regard.

But your point is certainly well taken. One minute at a time...

3. Yes, you're right
about that. It's always been easier to be a kid than an adult.

4. Reminds me of an interview I heard
Edited on Tue Apr-06-10 09:20 PM by Kind of Blue
a couple of months ago on NPR - Pew Survey of the Millennials - that was incredibly optimistic and confident. I know these are older "kids" (18-29) but I think you're on to something because this age group is really going through a very rough time as they step out to take care of themselves. If they - the group of kids you're talking about - follow in the footsteps of the Millennials, it really makes me feel good about the future.

Here are some snippets

"They look at - to themselves and they say, our generation is quite different than our parents' generation. But they don't say it with any rancor. What they say is they're unlike baby boomers who had this great dispute with their parents about values. The millennial generation say older people have better moral values, have better work ethic. The only thing they criticize the older generation for is their lack of tolerance.

Fewer of them support an assertive military posture as a form of national security compared to other generations.

they're very confident that it's all going to work out in the end. Sixty-eight percent of them say either now or at some time in the future -mostly some time in the future - they will earn enough money to lead the kind of life they want, higher than previous generations even though they have this high level of unemployment."

6. Your snippet sounds really uplifting!
I really don't know which generation this is talking about, but I wonder if they feel this way because *we* did a good job instilling in them the values of love, openness, the Universe (not religion's god), etc. - perhaps? At any rate, it's really good to hear they're not blaming the generation in front of them.

9. You are correct!
Interviewer Robert Siegel to Andrew Kohut, president of Pew Research.

"SIEGEL: Who raised these terrific kids, Andy?

(Soundbite of laughter)

Mr. KOHUT: People your age actually, Robert. Thank you for..."

When they spoke of the Millennials' parents' generation, they were called the Baby Boomers.

7. That really is uplifting...

and encouraging. Thanks much.

Having grown up in the age of the Internet -- even with its downfalls and, perhaps, a tendency to not engage directly, face to face as much -- it's as though they have a sense anything is possible and they're not confined by the way things are.

I love that. Maybe THAT is what we can tap into more and more.

And they are indeed much more tolerant...bless them. :)

10. Yeah, really bless this group and I'm keeping
my fingers crossed for our teens right now. They - from what I see of my step-daughter and friends - are just happy go lucky, loving school, loving boys/girls, life, rallying when one of them falls. I'm so proud of them and it is comforting to know that the generation before them - Millennials are very optimistic.

5. I don't know. My daughter has had tons of ups/downs with her friends.
Really intense stuff. She seems OK, but one of her friends out of the blue tried to commit suicide last week. They're in high school. Apparently the reason the girl gave was that over the course of the week, her girlfriend broke up with her and said she didn't care if she died, her grandma was diagnosed with a kidney tumor, her SAT scores came in at 1560, and she was down because she didn't get a personal invite to a college but received a robo-gram instead. It doesn't seem like at least those last 2 are majore, but then again, I'm not 16yo.

She's in therapy now. Another friend's mom saw her posting on Facebook about her plans, and she went over to her apartment and stayed with her until her Mom got home from work.

13. What other choice is there? We still have to live in a world that needs
us to help it live. We need to seek a balance between work and career. A nurturing home, rather than McMansion. Food that doesn't kill. AND the hope that our children get a future. If our baby booming parents would just let go a little and understand, WE won't fail you. We will not stick you out on a slab of ice because we do not value you.. We'd rather you be there for us and our children to pass on our heritage and values... We'd rather let you recieve as much health care as you need, but also wish you all would stop stressing so much and get Reagan out of your freaking heads. If no one has a stock portfolio, do you think society will end? LOL.. doubtful.
