1. Silly question of the day:

Why does the moon look red in certain images, not others? I haven't read the many articles about the eclipse and red moon; perhaps it explains that it will only appear red when viewed from certain parts of the world?

4. just guessing
That it has to do with particulate matter in the air. But there might also be different photography settings as well.

5. It turns red because
of our atmosphere. The atmosphere acts like a filtered lens. It bends red sunlight into our planet's shadow and scatters out blue light. It's the same reason why sunrises and sunsets appear reddish.

I was amazed it was actually clear here last night But there is no way I was going out in the snow. So I went around and looked out all my windows and marveled at how many stars I could see. And the snow had a ruddy color to it. Pretty.

2. Wow!
I don't know if the moon in the opening post was from this eclipse, but it's amazing!

3. not that one!
He was the guy who drove three hours to try to find some cloud free skies, and failed! That moon was from earlier in the night. He is an awesome photographer.

7. Yeah, it was all cloudy here too.
I wish we could have seen this -- would have been spectacular.

Thanks Celebration!
