Sorry all...I try to not bring negativity here, but I just feel so yucky. I haven't received the shipment of my new natural meds yet (was ordered just prior to the weekend at the office) and I'm just so tired of feeling so sick and tired...

I think the main reason why I feel good, is I have a new Guide who is flamboyant and fun and cheeky. He's around for a short-term assignment -- to help me get more active socially and to find a new man. I'm psyched!

I saw a holistic md last week, and they confirmed what I'd been thinking for the last year or so. Talk about depressed. :cry:

I was relieved to have a diagnosis, but it was kind of depressing to realize I'm at this point of my life. Makes you kinda' reflect on stuff, etc. Bleh....

I know, I know, this could be a new beginning and the best chapter of my life--well at least that's what I'm telling myself, at an attempt to comfort me. LOL. :hi:

Is there something specific you'd like to know? Or are you open to sharing why you are interested in natural meds--is there something going on you're seeking help with?

I ask because what I've been specifically prescribed may or may not be applicable to your situation. So it would help me answer you if I have a better idea of what you are dealing with and whether we have a similar issue. :)

I've been diagnosed with specific issues, and am now under a holistic md's care for these. He prescribed the meds.

Little background:

I've taken natural remedies previously, which I did on my own--w/out a doctor's help (primarily flax seed oil, evening primrose oil, multi-vitamins from Whole Foods Market--changing my diet to include more whole foods, less processed foods, more quality water. That kind of stuff). I did that over a year ago when my symptoms got really bad and my physicians weren't helping me at all. I (unfortunately) self-diagnosed at that time. I guessed at what was wrong, went to amazon.com--found a book on the issue. I ordered the book and followed much of the advice within it (same as what I was already doing with a few tweaks of different supplements and vitamins). Much of what I did, seemed to help me and I felt MUCH better.

Unfortunately, eventually my symptoms returned and I developed new ones. So I sought professional help, but from alternative medical professionals. I saw a naturopath (ND) and sought the help of a CNS (Certified Nutrition Specialist). Again, some of my issues improved, but in time things got bad again. Around the time my symptoms returned, I found out about a specialist locally--a MD that is holistic. I saw him last week. He diagnosed my issue. So now I'm just waiting to start treatment. I guess I'm just getting a bit impatient because I'm rather tired to dealing with my symptoms. lol.

Sorry for all the details. Probably tmi (too much information). Just wanted to give you an idea of where I am now, and where I'm coming from. Also to let you (and anyone else that may be reading this) I am under a doctor's care and am not just haphazardly taking things. (Just had to provide a little message board pre-cursor)So no one thinks I am trying to advise others of health issues. I'm not, just sharing my experience. lol.

I just got another ANOTHER friggin throat infection..

Got over one in late September. Damn this throat shit never ends. and it hurts too. Grr.. Hawking loogies and getting pissed off.
And so Friday I'm off to the doc for ..shots. Friggin antibiotics, flu shot,hep b and anti inflammitories, and anti nausea to keep me from getting sick from all the other shots.And the way my back has been an ass since yesterday I might ask for a nubain too.Of course I'll get a zithromax pack and I'll have to take a diflucan to kill the thrush I get after antibiotics..Than after all that I'll be popping probiotics like candy to try to help my intestinal flora grow back.. damn. Well I do know the shots she gives me knocks the infection out of me in like 24 hours. I have the name of that stuff written down somewhere I'll share it with you maybe you guys could use it if you need strep dead fast.
I have been lectured to get treatment fast on any throat I get because if my throat swells it makes the bone spurs scrape against my esophagus harder and so it wears it out faster, the nasty part is if the friggin spurs off my neck spine wear a hole into my esophagus I might bleed to death..On the upside it would be over really fast that way..
Sheesh. Bliss I agree things just suck right now. But at least I don't have my EX driving me up a wall on top of all this.

I'm SO sorry to hear that you are ill. I hope your throat infection clears very soon. All those shots sound awful. :hug::grouphug:

Don't know if this will help at this point, (since you already have in infection) but Airborne is pretty good stuff. I give it to my dh when he feels a cold, sore throat, etc. coming on and it clears things right up! It's all natural, herbal remedy (sold at drugstores) and it won't hurt you even if it doesn't help much. My ear, nose throat doctor said she tried some last time she felt something coming on and it helped--she didn't get a full blown illness/infection!

Either way, hoping you feel better very soon!
