Need a pep talk!
Long story short, partner and I moved to Florida for his job, leaving me unemployed for about a year. I'm employed now, but we're playing catch-up financially. I know intellectually that slow-but-steady progress is being made, but after ANOTHER month of being ten days away from payday with NOTHING left in the bank, my spirit is starting to feel crushed!

1. You have enough
remember to tell yourself that. Spirit will provide enough for you. I've been there, done that when it comes to living paycheck to paycheck. One thing that helped me was remembering my blessings and being thankful about them. In my case, my husband had become quite ill--couldn't find the cause, and money was going out, not coming in, as he couldn't work. I was thankful every day that he was still with me, thankful that I had my job, thankful that we had a doctor who used holistic practices and wasn't worried about money up front--you get the idea. Now his illness has been diagnosed, there is hope for improvement, and he's on disability. Things change, but gratitude can always be practiced.

2. Consider that you have more resources than those of which you know.
Support often comes through surprising, circuitous, and non linear means.

Maybe just breathe in that possibility for a spell.

That's not to minimize the dire nature of our economy at all.

I just think we've all got to improvise for a while, and get back in the flow, not expecting it to be traditional at all.

Did you by any chance see this?

Worth a shot I figure.

3. just keep believing
you will have enough. One way or another, the means will come to you. I know it's frustrating to be so broke, but it also forces you to get creative. Shop the sales, resale shops, recycle, reuse. We spend so much money on things we don't really need. I know I'm guilty of it.

I have also found, depending on how dire your circumstances really are, sometimes if you're feeling really broke the best way to get over it is to go out and spend a little money on something you really want, can use, but don't absolutely need. And remind yourself that it's only money.

Money comes and goes. It's not like you've lost a loved one or a limb or a life. It's only money.

4. Thanks all
Much better today, just feeling sorry for myself yesterday, selfishly so, as I can walk out my front door aand see people who have it SO much worse than me. Yes, I do have enough, my bills are paid, and we have no credit card debt (knock on wood). The damn student loans are another story, but I'll rant about THAT next time I'm down in the dumps!
