Akiane's original paintings are selling for 20 to 60 thousand dollars each, and she donates a substantial portion to select charities. The reproductions, prints on canvas, are available in limited editions on all images.

and she has been home schooled. Whatever she is connecting with it totally her own scene. It's not mine, to be sure. But it's something.

I'm absolutely not saying I would purchase, own or promote any of these works of art. The fascinating thing is that this is a TEN YEAR OLD GIRL painting. Unless this is a hoax.

I can be cynical, but I usually expect the best.

9. No, It Falls Under Line Of Reasoning That Everyone Has Different Taste

and the fact that a 7 year old isn't painting Guernicas isn't exactly a shocker especially since she seems to have a happy, loving and supportive family.

When I catch myself having reactions such as yours, I usually stop myself and ask "am I responding this way because of jealousy" and very often must answer yes.

This child started painting as a 7 year old at a level many artists may never get to.

She's obviously an old soul.

I find it distasteful to hear ANYONE disparage the artwork of another human being.

Especially since I have taught quite a few women several artforms. Their usual hangup is fear of failure.

Most people don't ever get STARTED when it comes to creativity. This kid is JUST BEGINNING.

This girl is incredibly gifted. Even if some don't appreciate the artwork, I think the point of the link is to show what this girl can do for her age! It seems as if she has nothing but good intentions and wants to express hope and love through her work. Instead of just complaining, perhaps we should spend more time commending hard work and artistic expression.

6. As an artist myself, I can't help but be impressed by her talent

As for her choice of subject matter...that is well...subjective LOL

This is pretty incredible stuff for a child so young. She certainly understands perspective, proportion, use of color and placement. I can certainly see why her canvasses sell. Maybe if she were 30 it'd be different but...holy crap. This is pretty impressive collection of works for a 10 year old, Also the canvas size is amazing...getting details on a small size is one thing, but on these larger sizes.


I can see a very wide range if interests here...this girl is very gifted and I say...good for her!

I do note that she calls herself a Christian artist but it does not appear by her work that she limits her themes too much...least I hope she doesn't.

7. The girl in the painting

looks like one of the Olsen twins. Not criticizing, just stating. I think her work is amazing, especially for a 10 year old.

8. I have mixed feelings

On one hand, the overt Christian theming is spooky, but that's a subjective response.

On the other hand, it is obvious that she's phenomenally gifted. This could be both a blessing and a burden for her and her family. Someday she's going to be 30 years old and people will say she's simply an adept artist with Christian motifs, and she'll no longer be a ten-year-old genius channeling angels. I think life may become harder for her as she gets older.
