Hi, ASAH Family :)
I mentioned this a few months ago, very briefly, but it is, finally, nearly ready. In fact, it's ready for me to invite those close to me -- those who I know won't judge and who will have patience -- to join in before announcing it to the world. (btw, the vast majority of those already, at the community forum, are very woo-woo. :) )
A dear friend and I have been working very hard on what is really a lifelong vision. For her, the website fulfills this vision; for me, there is much more to come...with the vision radiating out to create more compassionate communities, more compassionate ways to exist on this earth and sustain our existence.
It's called Wishadoo.
There are still many things to be tweaked, and there are still programming features for the "wish list" at the main site (we are awaiting the general search feature, for example; and a way for people to post without having to choose a state, as we have many international friends waiting to dive in, and many things needed and offered which are not limited to a location).
You'll notice the main site is where the list feature resides, and you can click "community" at the top(that is really my baby...and where I see us all creating wonderful things together) where you can also join to interact and share, create blogs, etc. I could even create a DU or ASAH group there! :)
Very few have been invited so far, but I would greatly, greatly appreciate it if you would kindly take a few minutes to check it out and let me know what questions you may have, or suggestions, or your general feedback.
In a nutshell, Wishadoo is the Craigslist of Compassion. It's where you can share your heartfelt, lifelong wishes that seem out of reach, to critical daily needs of survival, for yourself and others who may not be able to post for some reason. There will be many who will have to use the Internet from the library, so we've tried to make the main site as user-friendly as possible; the social networking of the forum won't be for everyone, but I think many of you will enjoy it.
Everyone is asked to enter with an open heart, without expectation, but with positive intention. To be open to the beauty of giving AND receiving, as each experience in and of itself IS the Wishadoo Experience.
I think that for many people posting a wish may be easier than posting a need (though I may be wrong), at least at first. Regardless, I'm asking people to start somewhere. Put it out there for the Universe to help act upon it, and enable others to act as human angels, and for you to do the same for someone in ways you never could have imagined.
There is no judgment, no expectation. Simply respect, for oneself and others.
The Internet is a godsend to me...I adore it and the worlds it has opened for me, personally. Yet it can also be so isolating. In many ways, we have lost touch with our humanity. Wishadoo is, for me, one way to retrieve our humanity...to reach out and reach back in a multitude of ways.
There are sooooooooo many ideas as to how I want to work within communities with Wishadoo: schools (have a school liaison post about families they know of who are in crisis...it's all anonymous, of course...and their needs); local shelters; libraries; local businesses.
Believe me, a lifetime of dreams and visions are playing out in my head under the Wishadoo umbrella.
(Oh, and for the heck of it, for you arty-fartsy types...check out www.wishadoodle.com) :) My partner hates cutsie things like that, but I LOVE it and know it works with Wishadoo in some way...to raise funds for children's hospitals, for example.
I've rambled enough. Thank you for reading, and thank you in advance for your time and what I know is unconditional support with this venture. There is quite a bit to read through, especially at the community forum site.
We've merely created the space...it's up to everyone else to determine how Wishadoo can evolve to serve them and their own community. I'll do my best to help each vision manifest. :)
With Gratitude..... :grouphug:
Wishadoo!
