I'm a serial cleome killer, much to the amusement of my FIL who struggles to keep them from taking over his yard. The kicker is I have a half acre garden and grow many hard-to-grow varieties, but cleomes are not my friends. :-)
A neighbor gave me a few seedlings which grew into a lovely large clump of 4 foot tall plants. In fairness, she did tell me that they would reseed...but she didn't tell me to what extent! I pulled seedlings for months from all over my yard. They were sprouting by the dozens more than 50 feet away! They were even coming up in the grass. They are beautiful...but I'll never put them in my yard again.
