2. I thought it was very good, but the ending was rushed

It's like they ran out of time and just slapped an ending together.

It's just like the first one though, so if you like it, you'll like the second.

3. It's worth playing if you played the first...
But not nearly as good.

4. I started playing X-Wing Alliance again. :)
Darksaber has an awesome craft pack that upgrades the graphics on many--most?--of the ships. It looks great.

Where to get the craft pack: http://www.darksaber.gaylenol.com/

5. Wow. That looks nice.
I never got around to playing X-Wing (Alliance is an expansion pack for X-wing, yes?) or X-Wing vs. Tie-Fighter... but I do own Tie-Fighter CD (which actually won PC Gamer's #1 slot in their "Greatest Games of All-Time" issue some years back).

Thing is, I don't know if Tie-Fighter can run on XP... or any of these other Star Wars flight sims.

6. X-Wing Alliance is a stand-alone game.
Edited on Mon May-16-05 02:00 AM by Ladyhawk
The single player version has an engaging story line, although if you use the ultimate craft pack, some of the missions aren't possible to win. I just skip them using the hacked pilot that comes with the DarkSaber's Ultimate Craft Pack.

X-Wing Alliance was made for Windows, so you're fine there. I'm using XP. I have a 1 GHz processor, 768 MB of RAM and a GeForce3 card. Yeah, it's time to upgrade. No, I don't have the money. Still, I can run XWA at 1600 X 1200 in single player. It looks really nice with the upgraded ships.

7. I'll definitely look into it.
I've been itchin' to play a SW flight sim for a while now... and was unwilling to jump into that Star Wars Galaxies expansion.
