I recently watched AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS (1956) for

I think the 3rd time.

I first saw it as a teenager, in the mid-60's, and thought then it was the best movie I'd ever seen.
I wouldn't say that now, but I did enjoy it.

This time, my favorite minor character was John Carradine, in the role of a blow-hard Westerner with picturesque speech.

1. I just looked at the cast list...
...and it's quite impressive.

You know, I'm not sure I ever got around to watching this one, at least not completely, though it must have run on TV when I was in grade school or high school.

3. I watched Around The World In Eighty Days
sometime in the last six months or so, on TCM. It was fun to pick out the various stars in their cameo roles.

My friends and I used to have our own ranking system for movies, our own version of "thumbs up". We ranked as worth paying full evening price at the theater, only worth paying matinee prices, worth renting, or wait until it shows up on free television. I'd rank Around The World In Eighty Days as a matinee movie.
