U.S. Army Europe will relocate about 85 soldiers from Italy to Germany to enhance command and control of training, maintenance and flight standardization.

Soldiers with G Company, 52nd Aviation Regiment, will augment and improve the efficiency of Germany-based aviation assets that will maintain their current level of support to Army units in Italy, according to a news release from U.S. Army Europe in Heidelberg.

Two C-12 fixed-winged aircraft will be relocated to Stuttgart and two Black Hawk helicopters will be relocated to Mannheim.

In Italy, in addition to an 85-soldier decrease, there will be an approximate decrease of 128 family members for a total net decrease of 213 people, the release said.

Most of those soldiers, about 80, and some 120 family members, will go to Mannheim, the release stated.
