Green Bay-area unit expected to return home

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. — The 432nd Civil Affairs Battalion from the Green Bay area is going to be home soon.

After spending nine months in Iraq, they are expected to arrive Saturday afternoon at Austin Straubel Airport in Ashwaubenon.

The unit left for training at Fort Bragg, N.C., in November 2007 and was sent to Iraq in February.

The 432nd works between the military and Iraqi civilians to rebuild infrastructure and help locals. It includes people with civilian professions ranging from aquatic biology to water park managers, health consultants, students, police officers and educators.
