The 4th Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team will be trickling home to Fort Hood, Texas, through the month of March, three months earlier than its originally scheduled 15-month deployment.

Fort Hood is also preparing to welcome the 4th ID headquarters element in early March. Some soldiers assigned to headquarters deployed in November 2007 and others deployed later, so deployment lengths among those soldiers will vary.

The division is completing its third rotation to Iraq and the colors are scheduled to be uncased at Fort Hood, Texas, in the first week of March.

A welcome home ceremony took place Saturday for about 80 soldiers from the division’s Special Troops Battalion after a 15-month deployment.

At Fort Carson, the division’s 4th BCT is preparing for a May deployment to Afghanistan and redeployment planning is underway for the 3rd BCT, which completed a full 15-month rotation in Iraq.
