Paratrooper’s death under investigation

An 82nd Airborne Division paratrooper has died from unknown causes after he was discovered unresponsive in his barracks room Saturday evening, according to a news release.

Pvt. Nicholas J. Dodson, 20, of Martinez, Calif., was a food service specialist with 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, at Fort Bragg, N.C. Dodson joined the Army in August 2007, completing basic training in November 2007 at Fort Jackson, S.C., and advanced individual training in January 2008 at Fort Lee, Va. He reported to the 82nd Airborne in January 2008. He had never deployed. Dodson’s death is under investigation.
