Another example
of the surreptitious but systematic way in which religion invades all aspects, all parts and all interstices of the public sphere.

Note Dr. Frist's words.

1. A pleasant note...
In an article full of disgusting comments from Mr First.

==snip==
Father John Paris, a Roman Catholic priest and professor of bioethics at Boston University in Massachusetts, accused Republicans of "pandering to the religious right, and it is pandering at its worse."
==end==

Good for him.

4. European jesuits are known,
and have been known for a looooong time, for their subtle, surreptitious, invisible, sneaky manoeuvers.

2. How did we get to this point?
Bush, Frist, Delay, Rove, Wolfowitz, Cheney, Barbara Bush, etc ad nauseum.

Would be nice if I believed in astrology or something like that. It's like a diabolical alignment of the planets.

3. How about when
scientists spend years researching and developing a new medication only to have the media label it a "miracle drug"?

Just one of my pet peeves.

5. Or when people have a successful multiple birth and thank God
It had nothing to do with your insurance company paying thousands for your infertility treatment. It had nothing to do with all of the years of research to develop those treatments. It had nothing to do with all of the technology available in the hospital to keep the lil ones alive when they wouldn't be if left to nature. It had nothing to do with the team of doctors and nurses working around the clock and millions spent by others. Nope-it's just clearly God's work.

grrrrr.
