Watching the BSG debut DVDs...Question.
What happened to Boxey? Boomer picked him up on Caprica, where she left Helo. She brought him aboard Galactica, and told Chief that he needed some quarters. I never saw Boxey again on the regular series after that.

Not that I wish to see a sily robot dog, but I'd think that since everything else is consistent, Boxey's story should be too.

1. They dumped him out an airlock
:) No I don't know. He made an appearance at a flight briefing Starbuck was giving but I don't recall if that was in the mini-series or a later episode.

I think the writers are just not able to figure out how to present a story like his. It's to bad because I'm sure these writers would not create another Wesley (or anything like the original Boxy) and an orphaned kid could present quite an interesting story and perspective I think.

3. He has a bunch of deleted scenes
The kid couldn't act. He just couldn't hack it.

They showed him I think once or twice more in minor places, like...he was just there, then he was gone. The deleted scenes explain it though. HORRIBLE. Seriously. Really really bad actor. I bet that they had a part laid out for him, but the kid turned out to be just so freaking bad, that the part was reduced, then eliminated. It doesn't mean that they couldn't reintroduce him. Heck now that over a year has passed, they could get another actor to play him a bit older, and nobody would probably mind.

4. I think after all the cut scenes, they decided they could do
nothing with him and let him go.

6. I heard they just couldn't think of what to do with the character
so they dumped him entirely. They didn't think anyone but the most observant of fans would notice. Congratulations.

7. In the commentaries...
...(podcasts), they mention that they had decided the series was just too dark of a show, it didn't need an "arnold and his dog". Just didn't fit.
