Battlestar Renewed for Season 4
http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=2&id=40133

SCI FI Channel announced that it has renewed its Peabody-winning original series Battlestar Galactica, ordering 13 new episodes. Production will resume this summer in Vancouver, Canada, with an eye toward a January 2008 premiere.

The decision comes after the series' successful move to a new 10 p.m. timeslot on Sundays. Since moving, Battlestar Galactica's audience has grown over its third-season average by 8 percent in total viewers, by double digits in female viewers, by 19 percent in the show's target demographic of adults aged 18-49 and by 14 percent in adults 25-54. The Jan. 28 episode, "Taking a Break From All Your Worries," delivered 2.5 million total viewers and 1.6 million adults 18-49, the largest audience for any episode since the season-two premiere.

13 episodes???? :wtf: Oh well. Maybe they're going to see what the rest of the season does, ratings-wise. And 13 > 0.
Glad to see I was wrong about the ratings when they moved BG to Sundays.

1. I guess that's why I'm not a TV executive
I would never have guessed that a move to late Sunday night would result in an increase in ratings.

Good news though.

2. Sunday Nights Are A Great Spot
Everyone's home watching TV because they have work the next day. It's Friday nights and Sat. nights that are the death spots because those are the nights people go out and DON'T watch TV.

3. I stayed home on Friday nights just to watch X-Files, Doctor Who, and BSG
Sunday nights were for watching Deadwood, Rome, or some other limited series on HBO.

Seems to me that moving the shows to Sunday night were soon followed by the shows undergoing radical change, not necessarily for the better, such as when X-Files moved production to California from Vancouver.
