Survivor South Pacific - Episode 3
Sadly, this episode was a bit too predictable, so it made it a little boring. MB and company tried their best to play out the fake idol thing to spice things up, but it never was a threat to redeem a boring episode.

We start with the annoying redemption island cage match of death. Christine matched up Semhar. Sadly (only because I had developed quite the crush on young semhar, she was ousted).

Meanwhile, lil-Hantz is digging his grave in record time. He keeps playing both the god-card that Matt played, while continuously lying and acting like his uncle. Its strange to watch.

On the other side, the obvious strong v. weak line is drawn with Papa Bear, Cochran and Dawn on the way out. The only interesting this was that Ozzy is apparently still an idiot and he tells Keith that he has the idol, who shares that information.

At the I/C and R/C, Coach seriously kicked ass. I give him credit. He really won that challenge.

The choice for team Ozzy was which of the weakling 3 do you vote out. They picked Papa BEar, which was probably the right choice. Cochlin was weak, but he never got tired. and Dawn ran her heart out in the challenge, so sorry father bear.

1. I thought it was predictable too...

..Little Hantz is really starting to annoy me...but overall I am getting seriously annoyed with the abundance of 'chraaaaast is my savyour' bullshit...There are two overt god-botherers on this season...last season we had Matt, who seems to think that god watches CBS on Wednesday nights when he's not watching Law and Order UK over on BBC America...and frankly i find it offensive...I don't recall there ever having been a fundamentalist Muslim on the programme, or a militant Buddhist for that matter ;-)....I think it detracts from the overall 'value' of this admittedly silly show, and if this season doesn't get lively soon may be the reason i quit watching it...

As to the episode itself, it was full of 'meh'...Coach stepped up his game...his tribe realizes that mini-ressel is a raving lunatic, the dude with the cowboy hat hasn't said a dmaned thing in two episodes, and it looks as though Cochran is going to try and go all 'Revenge of the Nerds' next week on Ozzie....I hope so because this has been a less than spectacular start to the season...

2. IMO Brandon and Uncle Russell both have profound personality disorders

They are just both weird in different ways.

I find Brandon's open dislike of Makayla disturbing and irrational to say the least. I suspect he feels threatened by a strong, confident and capable female. His comments on her are way over the edge. I hope she can find a way to turn this around and win the admiration of her tribe mates. I'm thinking Coach has decided Brandon is the one he wants to take with him to the end so the others will vote him off, Coach has been rather protective of him toward the others. I was sorry to see Christine voted off last week. Coach made getting rid of her a personal issue, she could have been a strong competitor given the chance. I hope she does well on Redemption Island. I don't think we will see any more of Papa Bear after next week.

5. they're both bullies
as for Brandon's problem with Mikayla, I've seen it a lot in very Christian men. They blame women for tempting them, not themselves for being tempted. It comes from unhealthy repression of natural feelings.

I feel attracted to people besides my wife, but because I'm a healthy mature adult, I never stray. I don't have to subsume my feelings and deny that they exist, so I can easily deal with them.

Both Brandon and Li'l Ressell have self-control problems.

3. I'm confused.
Brandon told Mikayla that nobody liked her...is that true?

Semhar's poetry reading to calm herself down was bizarre!

I like Ozzy but he's too laid back...I wouldn't be surprised if he gets voted off again with the Immunity Idol in his pocket!

4. Brandon is dumb
He told Mikayla that nobody liked her, but in reality he is the only one that does nto like her. He made an alliance with 4 that did not include him, but they will cut him if he gets crazy. I know what you mean about Semhar, but she is so beautiful and has such great spirit that I would overlook the batshit crazy poet thing. Ozzy is sooo getting voted off with that idol in his pocket.
