Whoa! That IWR vote was 4 years ago today.
If only we knew then what we know now. I just posted some remarks that the Good Senator's office sent out about another idiotic comment by Bush this morning about IRaq and how everyone but him is wrong. Sigh!

4 years. Wow, that's sobering.

1. I really think that Kerry, having voted yes for the IWR, is in a better
position than other Democrats to be highly motivated to end this war. With each passing day, he alone emerges as the #1 Anti-war candidate for '08. This is just speculation but I really think this has been a 1971 moment for him. Sure, he wants to win, but it goes beyond that and being an anti-war voice that will make the news on a regular basis -- slings and arrows be damned. If he had most definitely decided not to run, his voice would not have been heard as well. I know, I know -- he hasn't declared, but conditions are looking good that he will. And the war is the #1 reason he is doing so.

2. I couldn't agree more.

Ahm, we have talked about that incredible speech at Faneuil Hall in April that occurred on the 35th anniversary of the SFRC testimony in '71. Ahm, yeah, having witnessed that, I could not agree with you more.

Still, to this day, no one else is saying, "immoral. It is immoral." OMG, not that it's technically wrong, not that it's just a theoretical nightmare to get out and logistically won't work and that there are complications and that we need to just change course and blah, blah, blah. OMG, it is immoral to stay there and let our kids die for an unwinnable cause. It is immoral for Iraqis to have us there because it worsens the dying. It is immoral. Flat out, immoral. OMG.

It still gets me that when Kerry talks about half the names on the VN Wall belong to people who died after we knew VN wouldn't work. That means Judy Droz Keyes husband died after we knew it wouldn't work. Hell, Kerry's own service time in VN occurred after we knew it wouldn't work. I'm just so glad he is talking about this. Cuz this one ain't gonna work either and the dying goes on and on and on.
