thank you too for keeping this forum with some young energy.

at first i thought we wont get much on here other than maybe a few posts every once in a while about what Kerry was doing which is why i kind of leaned against the idea.

but it quickly turned into a multi purpose type forum. it's almost like the lounge and discussion forums combined except we don't have to deal with the some of the crap that goes on in the discussion forums.

2. I am glad its become like the lounge

in a way too, because the lounge just cracks me up, but it has somewhat of a nicer taste to it than the lounge does, theres no Catholic bashing here :), and I love that. Hey, I am not the youngest anyore, ha, yeah your welcome, but we really are a young bunch, sure we're a little hyper and shit but hey thats fine.

I like the ambience of the place. It's a nice safe place were you can voice an opinion and not feel like you're setting yourself up for a big fight. It's great to be able to discuss things without it turning into a a seession full of shouting and hurt feelings. Everyone listens, disagrees with polite passion and really talks. I like that so much.

Damnit :D. Yeah well you know one of the reasons why I originally would defend Kerry is because I knew who Kerry was and knew that he was not the warmongrel, they said he was, I didn't see it in the record he had, I didnt see it in my hero Teddy Kennedy's staunch support of him.

D'oh, youre part of why I really came to like Kerry and Kucinich both alot. Well, all it took was a little research. And to all those bastards who said Kerry wasn't sponosoring pro gay rights legislation in the 80's, I got to tell to them this, YOURE DAMNED WRONG, I was in the Rayburn CRS(Congressional Research System) Library yesterday for an hour, and I did some research, a certain Senator John Kerry from Massachuetts in 1985 sponosored a bill that would have banned discrimination based on sexual orientation. Really, it wasnt that hard to find out the truth. Its really sad that most of those who are so obvilious to Kerry are older than I am, you think they would know. Thanks btw, you really were a big help, its really nice to see you here.

You've all created a place of calmness in DU, were people are supportive and discussions are civil. Does anyone think the discussion of the IWR, which was very informative and on which there were diverse opinions with absolutely no name calling, could have taken place anywhere else in DU? Even if it started similarly, it would have degenerated within 4 responses.

I'm grateful to those of you who created it and set its tone. Thank you

Thanks Kleeb. I'm glad you've enjoyed our weirdness. I can't think of too many guys (no, honestly, ANY others) who would stand to chat repeatedly with two or three filthy-minded young women fighting over a U.S. Senator. You're a tough one. Or else you really do like it...

Seriously, though, I agree with everyone who's said that this is a great group. I was a regular of the elections forum until about the 6th of January, when (for some reason) it went completely to pot, so I decided to take a sabbatical from DU. If not for this board, it would have been not a sabbatical at all, but permament.

Kerry would be honored to know that he has such levelheaded, sane, and intelligent supporters.
