1. He is scum
There is an article on this at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/07/08/t-boone-pickens-unveils-n_n_111444.html">Huffpost and people are actually supporting him. I can't believe how people will fall for the likes of an Oilman (CEO of BP) and worse a piece of scum who will do anything and everything to put more money in his pocket, this isn't about climate change this is about SCUM Pickens thinking about profit for his wallet which gives him more money to help the Repubs destroy this country further.

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/bus/stories/070808dnbusPickens.3fb918a.html

T. Boone Pickens has a plan to solve the country's $700 billion-a-year dependence on foreign oil.

Replace gasoline with natural gas. Replace natural gas-fired power plants with wind, solar, nuclear and clean coal. Basically, replace foreign oil with domestic fuel without straining those resources."We've gotten ourselves in a trap," Mr. Pickens said last week in an interview in his Dallas office. "The problem is, we said, 'Send us the oil, and never mind the cost.' "

"Things were fine until the price went vertical on us," said Mr. Pickens, who calculates that, at $140 a barrel for crude, Americans spend $700 billion a year on 5 billion barrels of oil from foreign countries. That amounted to about 65 percent of total U.S. supply last year.

oh, and favorable press on the HuffPuff:

It is clear he is pushing natural gas for cars, and he has a lot of money in natural gas. I guess he thinks he has made all the money he can from oil.

3. "scum" might well be the nicest word I have for him.
The rest would probably get my post deleted, even here.

5. I do believe him, though, that he is not getting involved in the presidential campaign this time.
I think he is not a John McCain fan (that's my theory). Which actually says something good about John McCain.

6. Ugh. DUers are already seeing the ads:

Almost parallel in time 4 years ago give or take a few weeks, when the smear ads against John Kerry started to air which T Boone funded.

8. I heard him interviewed on NPR this morning about his investment in wind turbines
I couldn't believe it. I know NPR has been tainted during the last eight years, but how could they report that story as if he were a respectable environmentalist? The best you can say about that creep is he knows how to turn a profit. If they cared a fig about presenting his investment in context, they would have mentioned how he's buying up water rights so he can charge people an arm and a leg for what they can't do without, not to mention that his years of making millions from oil investment have created the problems he's now so nobly setting out to solve. It reallyl made me ill to hear him preach against "foreign oil." He has no soul.

9. You're right and I think he is trying to divert attention away from his involvement with the SBV .

And, "the bet". If he does the right thing here, that is good, but I don't trust that this is being done for the good of this country.
